ISSeP monitors the air quality on the Esplanade de la Confluence in Namur (place du Grognon).

Two mobile air quality measurement stations were installed at the end of March 2022 for 4 months. These stations are equipped with analysers for measuring particulate matter PM10 and PM2.5, nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide in the ambient air.

The ambiant air monitoring campaign is directly linked to the redevelopment of the esplanade and the construction of a pedestrian-cyclist footbridge between Namur and Jambes. The project was carried out between 2017 and 2021.

At the request of AwAC (Walloon Air and Climate Agency), ISSeP carried out a similar measurement campaign in 2016 and 2017 on two sites located north and south of the esplanade.

Thus, by measuring ambient air quality before and after the roadworks, one of the main goals of the study is to evaluate the impact of this mobility project on the ambient air quality.

A specific report gathering all the data should be published by the end of 2022 and will be available in the "Publications" section of wallonair.be.
