Subject: ISSeP

The ISSeP Air Quality Unit is active in the field of research. Below is the list of current projects… (for more information: consult the "Our projects" section and the ISSeP website). You can also consult our YouTube channel, ISSeP WEB TV to find out more about ISSeP's activities in the field of environmental monitoring.

ACTRIS 2 (Aerosols, Clouds, and Trace gases Research InfraStructure Network): defining a high-quality standard and pooling our tools and experiences at a European level regarding measuring air quality.

AIR-ECOLE (QUALAICOL): raising awareness among schools and carrying out indoor air quality measurements. Informing municipal stakeholders of the impact of traffic on air quality around schools.

CO2 sensors (CO2): the objective is to make school stakeholders aware of the importance of good ventilation in premises occupied by children, by making sensors available to measure the CO2 concentration in real time in the air.

DIAPASON (Study of the dispersion and reactivity of Ammonia): impact of Agricultural Practices on the quality of Ambient Air in the Walloon region.

ICOS-WB (Integrated Carbon Observation System in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation): can our ecosystem continue to offset our greenhouse gas emissions? Better understanding the important role of vegetation and oceans in effectively fighting climate change.

INDAIRPOLLNET (INDoor AIR POLLution NETwork): improving understanding of the cause of high concentrations of atmospheric pollutants in indoor air through exchanges and collaboration with European experts in the field.

Microsensors (MC): establishing a complementary network of air quality monitoring mini-stations using low-cost microsensors, a new way of assessing exposure to atmospheric pollution.

OIE (Outdoor and Indoor Exposure): precisely identifying atmospheric pollution due to traffic in ambient and indoor air.

PEMSWALL (Car Engine Emissions Prospecting on Walloon Roads): checking compliance with emission standards by car manufacturers.

SMART'IN AIR (Smart indoor air monitoring network to reduce the impacts of pollutants on environment and health): developing an analyser to measure VOCs and Formaldehyde in real time in order to be able to act in a targeted manner to improve the indoor air quality.

TransfAIR (TA): cross-border tools for harmonised management of air quality.

LEZ (Low Emission Zones): carrying out an environmental impact study of the establishment of low emission zones (LEZ) in Walloon territory. Reducing the negative impact of certain air pollutants associated with cars.
